Dr. Sarit G. Catchatoorian, commonly known as Dr. C to patients and colleagues, has practiced optometry in Charlotte, North Carolina for over 30 years. In 1995 he founded Advance Eyecare, O.D, P.A., and served the people of South Charlotte and beyond as the owner and operator of his private practice for over two decades. He sold his practice to MyEyeDr in 2017 and is currently seeing patients as the lead optometrist in the same location.

Dr. C attended Brigham Young University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and a minor in psychology in 1990. In 1994, he received his Bachelor of Science in visual science and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (now Salus University).

He founded Point of View Consulting, O.D., PLLC in 2018 to help optometry students successfully prepare for both their board exams and for their careers in optometry. His consulting services include life coaching, mentoring, helping students find employment opportunities in optometry, and helping recent and established optometrists build new successful optometric practices.

Dr. C was a clinical examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry Part 3 from 2011 to 2018. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina Optometric Society, and the Piedmont Optometric Society. He is Nationally Board Certified in optometry in the treatment and management of ocular disease and is also certified for corneal refractive therapy to help slow down the progression of myopia (nearsightedness) in children.

As past-president  of the Southpark Lions Club and a member of Lions in Sight of California and Nevada, Dr. C enjoys doing global humanitarian work with Lions International and frequently travels the world to give eye exams to underserved populations in places such as Ghana, Peru, Panama, Mexico, El Salvador, Haiti, Albania, Jamaica, Fiji, and Ethiopia. He also works with the Charlotte Lions Eye Clinic quarterly to provide free exams to low-income families and helps refugees acclimate to American life in Charlotte.

Additionally, he is an avid advocate for marginalized groups in his community, and works with his church to bring awareness and compassion to these people.

In his spare time, Dr. C is very active and loves playing soccer, running, walking his dog Ellie, and riding horses. A family man at heart, he most enjoys spending quality time traveling with his four adult children and his wife of 33 years, Cheryl.
