Haiti

In 2015 I traveled to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. It has been the poorest country I have ever served in, and has the most devastation and poverty I have ever witnessed. The city still suffered damage from the 2005 earthquake 10 years later, with people living on roads with 10-foot wide cracks, in roofless homes, and in homes with walls damaged throughout.

The Lions in Sight team stayed in an orphanage with many handicapped children who had been abandoned by their families, which was heart-wrenching to see and experience. It was a life changing trip for sure.

We saw 4,000 patients, with a team of eight doctors and 15 technicians.
